RISING Merch 2022

Each year RISING concepts and produces merch in collaboration with the artists from that years festival. We concept ideas and then work with the artists on items that we think could best present or even extend their artworks impact. Pieces are then refined by ourselves and the team at Contain Design Studio through to production.

With timelines being too tight between concept, production and items going on sale, the 2022 batch of RISING merch was necessary to build in 3D. While simple objects like mugs and posters were easy to model, clothing and more organic shapes proved a challenge. This lead me to learning Marvelous Designer, a tailoring and cloth sim specialised program to make all of the t-shirts, socks and the fabric for the umbrella.
